High end production process of color paste: coating sand mill

Color paste is a semi-finished product made by dispersing pigments or pigments and fillers into paint. It is called oily color paste when pure oil is used as the adhesive, and resin color paste when resin paint is used as the adhesive; The pigment and filler paste made by adding surfactants to water as the medium and dispersing it is called water-based color paste; Due to the variety of paint materials and color pastes, there are also many types. In order to better disperse pigments and other substances in the paint, a small amount of surfactant and zinc naphthenate are often added during the manufacturing process.

Traditional paint coloring involves directly adding pigment powder to the paint, or some paint manufacturers simply making the pigment into a slurry and then adding it to the paint for coloring. This approach has certain drawbacks, such as poor color reproducibility, uneven coloring, lack of professional technology and processes, coarse pigment particles, low coloring power, and severe pollution. When added to the coating, the film has poor light resistance and weather resistance, and is prone to fading and powdering.
Due to the current demand for industrial processes, the requirement for color pastes is no longer simply to add pigments to solvents, especially for some high-end coating processes where the requirement for color pastes is even higher. So in many color paste production industries, sand mills are used to grind the color paste again, making the pigment particles of the paste finer, usually reaching the micron level. This can effectively solve the drawbacks of traditional paint coloring.

The grinding machine is of disc type or bar pin type, with a closed inner cavity design. The grinding plate is installed on the mixing shaft in a certain order, which overcomes the shortcomings of the traditional horizontal grinding machine, such as uneven distribution of grinding media and poor particle size distribution after grinding. Materials enter the grinding chamber under the action of the feed pump. The inlet is designed to drive the end of the connecting flange. The material flow direction and the mechanical bearing direction are opposite to the bottom end, which greatly reduces the bearing pressure of the mechanical seal, Extending its service life, during the high-speed operation of the eccentric disc of the mixing shaft, the mixture of materials and grinding media undergoes efficient relative motion. As a result, the solid particles of the material are effectively dispersed, sheared, and ground. After passing through the dynamic large flow rotor gap separation filter, the final product is obtained.
