The difference between wet grinding and dry grinding

At present, there are many kinds of processing requirements in the powder industry. With the increasingly fierce competition in the powder industry, more and more customers want to achieve more refined materials, and the powder industry is also constantly developing in the direction of nano powder, so the previous single processing method is no longer applicable, so it will become a key problem for some enterprises to find some relevant nano powder preparation.
The business community mainly uses physical and mechanical grinding methods to achieve nano sized powder materials. That is, dry grinding and wet grinding. For nano powder manufacturers, of course, they want to obtain the final nano powder by dry grinding. However, when using a dry grinding machine to grind powder, the temperature of the powder will rise sharply due to the introduction of a large amount of energy, and how to avoid explosion-proof problems after the powder particles are refined is difficult for the grinding machine to control. So the wet grinding method emerged, and the powder obtained by grinding with a wet grinding machine is the most effective and cost-effective method.
Dry grinding refers to the process of grinding in which the moisture content of the material does not exceed 4%, while wet grinding involves suspending the raw material in the carrier liquid flow for grinding, with appropriate additives such as dispersants added to assist in the grinding process. When the moisture content of the material exceeds 50% in a wet grinding machine, the problem of dust flying can be overcome. However, wet operation generally consumes more energy than dry operation, and equipment wear is also more severe.
